DWF Posting

  2. Browse to /public_html/private/lnsdwf/
  3. Upload new DWF files into appropriate directory. Create new directories as necessary. Remember to use folder and file names with out spaces.
  4. Close connection to lns101.
Updating JAVA link-list
  1. Using Exceed or Telnet, logon to lns101.lns.cornell.edu using draft username and password.
  2. Browse to /public_html/
  3. Depending on what series you would like to update, type 'clist*' This script will index the DWF files and write an updated html page named list*.html
  4. e.g. clist3000 will index the DWF files in the 3000 series and write an updated html page named list3000.html
  5. Type 'cdraw' into the command prompt. This script will create the drawings.txt file used to enable the Open command in the Arnona CADViewer. It finds all *.DWF files and lists them in a txt file.
  6. Close connection to lns101.
Updating Aliases
  1. In the command prompt in the home directory of lns101, type 'emacs .cshrc' which will bring you to an editor to edit the aliases.
  2. Cut and paste any line defining an existing alias, and modify the alias name, the HTML page created, and what the command is searching for. e.g. Creating a 7000 series, replace all 3's in the new line to a 7.
  3. To enable this alias, you must close connection to lns101 and reconnect so the .cshrc file will run.
Updating list.html
  1. Go to list.html in Internet Explorer, and right click on page and click on 'View Source' This will open up list.html in notepad. Go to 'File/Save As' and save as list.html on your desktop.
  2. As in updating aliases, cut and paste one line (e.g. 3000 series) and replace all 3's with 7's in the code. This will add a link to the new series HTML page on list.html
  3. To update the internet page, open Norton File Manager and open a connection to lns101/public_html/.
  4. Upload list.html into this folder and make sure to choose the 'Replace' option on the prompt.
  5. Close connection to lns101.
Backing-up Directory
  1. Using Exceed or Telnet, logon to lns101.lns.cornell.edu using draft username and password.
  2. Browse to /public_html/
  3. Type 'backupdir' at the command prompt. This script will make a copy of all of html files and store them in the 'backup' directory. This need only be done if html pages are modified, or if the java viewer is updated. This script will overwrite the previous back-up, so make sure that what you are backing-up is correct.
  4. Close connection to lns101.
Restoring Directory
  1. Using Exceed or Telnet, logon to lns101.lns.cornell.edu using draft username and password.
  2. Browse to /public_html/
  3. Type 'restoredir' at the command prompt. This script will restore the html pages and java viewer files.  Hopefully this will never have to be done, but in case it is, be careful - this script will overwrite all html and java viewer files in the public_html directory.
  4. Close connection to lns101.
DWF Posting Notes (From TOC local PC)
  1. Copy 'backupdir' to ZIP & rename to reflect last modified date visible under Norton Window.  This date should NOT be the current date the work is being done.
  2. Back-up the directory on LNS101 as noted above.  Now you have a copy of old on ZIP and a back-up of current on server and are ready to make changes to current working directory on server.
  3. Now ready to create new directories as needed & FTP dirs and dwfs to LNS101.
  4. For Control Drawings:    FTP files that already have existing directories on LNS101 being careful to delete older dwf files.  This leaves only those dwf files on local machine with no prior postings.  These can be done en mass.  Create directories to parallel those in CAD file archive, remember that spaces will not work on LNS101, move dwf files into directories, and then FTP the directories from local PC to server.
  5. For Mech/Elec Drawings:    Check for existing directories and move/delete accordingly (2D to 2D and MDT to MDT).  Check for older versions in 2D Non-Parametric areas that are being replaced by new MDT versions.  Create directories and move/delete accordingly.
  6. Move dwf files from local machine to ZIP back-up after all is working on LNS101.
