Welcome To Mark Palmer's Research Page

Cornell University Laboratory of Nuclear Studies

Warning:  This page is under construction (and probably always will be)! Unfortunately, not all of the listed links are currently available. They will appear as I have time to complete them.

Introduction

This page provides links to a range of hardware, software and analysis projects in which I am or have been involved. If you are not a member of the LNS community, a large number of the links may not be available to you.

CESR Work
CLEO Analysis

My primary analysis interest is semileptonic decays of the B meson.  I have also helped out a bit with D-mixing efforts for semileptonic D decays.

Hardware, Online and Dataset Information

I was CLEO Run Manager for the 1997-1998 term.

I am also a member of the CLEO II.V SVX Crew.  Here are some links that are generally useful if you are working with the CLEO II.V Dataset:
  • CLEO II.V  Dataset Features  Page.
  • CLEO II.V  Offline Luminosity  Information (NOTE:  Run ranges for the 4sH and 4sJ datasets were redefined between taking the data and running PASS2 on the data.  So BE CAREFUL !!!).

Software
  • CLEO II.V Production MC readiness.
  • Merge Noise in CLEO II.V.
  • The  BINGO package - a new low momentum tracking package for CLEO II.V and CLEO III. This package is a descendant of the CLEO II.V silicon standalone tracker (SVTF) and the MARK III vector trackfinder.
  • The SVTAGR (SVTG) package - the SVX tagging package for CLEO II.V.
  • The SVTLIB (SVTF) package - the CLEO II.V standalone SVX tracker.
  • FR_SKIM (full roar skimmer) - Actually, it isn't just a full roar skimmer, it will skim anything in the context of a DRIVER job. The name simply evolved out of what Dave Lange and I needed it for. It has hooks to do a number of skims (eg, gamma gamma to 4pi, lepton, D reconstruction, continuum slow pi tagging, etc), and can be readily expanded to accomodate other skims. In addition to the code, we have a constantly evolving set of scripts which make it straightforward to run jobs in DLT queues.
  • The  VETO  package - a package to filter problem trigger and HV events from CLEO II.V PASS2 processing.
  • The  EMSKIM  package - a PASS1 package to create Recompress and CLEO II.V electron embeedding skims.  This includes separate skims of radiative bhabha events and hadronic events.

  • The  BNSK  package - a CLEVER processor which can be used to generate separate output FZX skims broken down by CESR bunch number (very useful for embedding work).
The UIUC-UCSB-WSU Analysis Cluster

The Illinois, Santa Barbara, and Wayne State groups have joined in a collaborative effort for analyzing CLEO II.V data....
