In this section we examine the ramifications of luminosities

) between

on
the CLEO front-end electronics, trigger, and data acquisition systems.
We briefly review the present status of these systems and the
implications of their unmodified use at 
in view of the
expected backgrounds. Trigger and front-end architectures applicable to
high luminosity operation are discussed, and a data-acquisition system
having sufficient bandwidth and flexibility is presented. Since we are
designing a new electronics architecture that will be in use beyond the
initial CESR Phase 3 upgrade, it must be extensible to
, the upper limit that CESR can achieve.
