View the 2008 projects, mentors, students and presentations. The calendar for 2008 is still under development, but getting closer to final; it will be similar to that for 2007. There are several other REU programs on campus in the summer. While many of the events in them are specific to the participants of the invidual programs, some are REU-wide. See this site for trips to Niagara Falls and New York City. View the Travel Guidelines for 2008. This year's undergraduate residence hall is Balch Hall, which is on the northern portion of campus and near Beebe Lake and Fall Creek, as shown on Cornell's Housing and Dining Map.Also there is the LEPP Campus Map; it shows important dining, housing and laboratory sites. There are kitchen facilities in Balch, but many students like to eat (at least occasionally) at campus dining areas, for which we give their Summer 2008 hours of operation. Check-in this summer will be Sat/Sun 31May/01June at Robert Purcell Community Center (RPCC). Personal mailboxes for the summer will be in Appel Service Center, which is very near Balch Hall. There will also be mail service available at the two laboratory buildings. Campus Life has provided us with detailed instructions about "getting to campus" once you have arrived in Ithaca. Please note that check-in for Balch Hall this summer will be at Robert Purcell Community Center.

The
Summer Program 2008 Information Sheet has been distributed by
Campus Life; please read this before setting out for Ithaca.
The 2008 Participant's Guide is now available; there are some differences with repsect to the 2007 Participant's Guide in areas of email, computing, banking, etc. There will be minor updates up until opening day at which time you will receive a hard copy as well.
We have the final list of projects. Students should contact their mentors well
before the REU begins.
